Trigger-happy Man Kecik shot dead

SUNGAI BULOH: He was a notoriously trigger-happy criminal, sought by police for armed robbery, criminal intimidation, evading arrest and murder.
One could say Azman Aini, 30, also known as “Man Kecik” feared nothing and was even reported to have brandished a pistol at policemen to evade a roadblock along Jalan Kamunting last week.
His crime spree ended yesterday after he was shot dead by policemen near a cemetery at Kampung Paya Jaras Hulu.
Sungai Buloh OCPD Supt Junaidi Bujang said police got word that Azman was hiding out at a house at Kampung Paya Jaras Dalam and surrounded the area.
“Our personnel raided two houses at around 12.10am yesterday. We arrested two men aged 20 and 28 and also seized a stolen motorcycle,” he said adding that in the commotion of both raids, Azman escaped.
He said police then tracked Azman to the Paya Jaras Hulu Muslim cemetery about a kilometre away.
“When my men approached, Azman fired two shots at them, and they returned fire in self defence,” he said, adding that Azman died at the scene.
Supt Junaidi said police found a Steyr 9mm semi-automatic pistol near Azman’s body.
“Initial investigations revealed that Azman was convicted for evading arrest and forcing a woman to perform oral sex on him before selling her to a vice ring in 2005.
“We believe he was also involved in a criminal intimidation case here, an armed robbery case in Kampung Baru Subang and a murder case here,” he said, adding that police believe another armed suspect close to Azman was still at large.
It was reported last Thursday that policemen were manning a roadblock at Batu Empat Jalan Kamunting-Batu Kurau when they stopped a Proton Wira with two men inside for a routine inspection at about 11pm.
Background checks revealed one of the men was wanted for sexual assault and criminal intimidation cases in Sungai Pelong, Sungai Buloh in Selangor.
Upon moving to arrest him, the other man in the car whipped out a pistol and pointed it at them before both men jumped back into the car and fled. The car was found in Pondok Tanjong near Kubu Gajah, about 45 minutes later.
One of the suspects had been identified as Azman, who is from Taman Paya Jeras Permas in Sungai Buloh.
In August 2005, Azman was charged with forcing a close female friend to perform oral sex on him and was also accused of selling her to a vice syndicate.
He forced the woman to perform oral sex on him at a hotel in Sekinchan, and sold her to a vice ring at an abandoned factory in Jalan Bagan Sungai Burung, Sabak Bernam on June 26.
